Miss Vera Herbert, President of the Nevis Netball Association, on Tuesday 8th March, made a concerted appeal to Netballers on Nevis, to register for two upcoming competitions.
The first call was made to the senior Netballers on the island, as St.Kitts and Nevis has received an invitation to participate in a tournament scheduled for St.Maarten in October.
According to Miss Herbert, once the senior Netballers register with the Association, practice and training sessions will be put in place and eventually, there will be some play off matches between teams from St.Kitts and Nevis, before the final selection of the Federation’s team is made.
She is appealing to the seasoned Netballers on the island to come forward and make themselves available for the tournament.
Meanwhile, an under 16 tournament is scheduled for St.Maarten in August and St.Kitts and Nevis is also hoping to send a representative team.
On a good note, Miss Herbert stated that in this regard, the CSS team will be used as a good starting base for training but other interested players can register for the training and practice sessions which will also culminate in matches between St.Kitts and Nevis teams, before the final selection is made.
She also used the opportunity to appeal to individuals and businesses to volunteer their time, skills, finances etc in assisting the Netballers in any way possible.
