Charlestown –Nevis-Two deaths within the space of 24 hours, have rocked the Nevisian community.
The news was received on Monday evening of the passing of Cecil Wilkes aka TOMS.
He previously served as a beloved teacher and also did stints at the Agriculture Department and also at Nevis pages, in more recent times, prior to his retirement.
He passed away after a prolonged illness.
Then on Tuesday 8th February, the Nevisian community learned of the passing of the very popular Chesley FARO Davis.
A cultural icon in his own right and who up to the day of his passing, was a long-serving Community Officer, at the Community Services Department.
As matter of fact, it is reported that Davis had just left a staff meeting and went to the nearby Verlin’s shop, where he was a regular customer, and on his way out of the establishment, something went radically wrong and he was next seen lying on the ground, in obvious deep distress.
He was taken to the Alexandra Hospital and passed away sometime after.
Condolences are extended to the grieving families
