Traffic Department Conducts Vehicular Checkpoints, Issues Numerous Traffic Tickets

The Royal St. Christopher and Nevis Police Force (RSCNPF) is actively working to improve road safety and enforce traffic regulations.

On March 28, 2025, officers from the Traffic Department, led by Superintendent Bradshaw and Sergeant Henry, conducted several Vehicular Checkpoints (VCPs) at key locations across Basseterre. These operations resulted in the issuance of seventy-four (74) traffic tickets for various violations and the impoundment of two (2) vehicles.

A separate checkpoint was conducted at Conaree, near the bus stand, between 12:30 p.m. and 1:20 p.m. During this operation, seven (7) motorists were issued tickets for exceeding the speed limit.

The RSCNPF reminds all motorists of their responsibility to comply with road traffic laws to ensure the safety of all road users. Speeding, failure to wear seatbelts, unauthorized modifications to vehicles, and non-compliance with traffic signs pose serious risks to public safety and will not be tolerated. Law enforcement will continue to conduct routine checkpoints and enforce penalties to deter reckless driving and promote safer roads.

The public is urged to exercise caution, adhere to the laws, and respect the regulations designed to protect lives. The RSCNPF remains committed to road safety and thanks all law-abiding motorists for their cooperation.
