Traffic Convictions St Kitts

On August 15 and 16, 2024, several persons appeared before the Basseterre Magistrate’s Court to answer charges related to violations of traffic regulations.

The Court was presided over by His Honor, Mr. Reynold Benjamin, resulting in multiple convictions and fines.

Convictions and Fines:

Stewart Francis of Herbert Street, Newtown
Offense: Driving without due care and attention
Outcome: Convicted and cautioned.

Mahendramanauth Deownanan of St. Peters
Offences:
Driving without insurance.
Driving an unlicensed vehicle
Outcome:
Fined $750.00 forthwith or one-month imprisonment for driving without insurance.
Convicted and cautioned for driving an unlicensed vehicle.

Selwyn Fitzherbert Junior Mingo of Infirmary Road
Offences:
Failing to comply with a traffic sign.
Driving without insurance.
Driving with an expired license (committed on 10th August 2024).
Outcome:
Convicted and cautioned for failing to comply with a traffic sign.
Fined $1,000.00 forthwith or two months imprisonment for driving without insurance.
Fined $500.00 forthwith or 14 days imprisonment for driving with an expired license.

In addition, thirty-eight (38) cases were withdrawn following the payment of outstanding tickets.

The Royal St. Christopher and Nevis Police Force continues to encourage all road users to comply with traffic regulations to ensure the safety of everyone on our roads. The public’s adherence to these laws is vital to maintaining order and reducing accidents.
