Traffic Checkpoint Operation Yields 41 Tickets for Various Offenses

On October 30, 2024, officers from the Traffic Department and other divisions conducted a vehicular checkpoint (VCP) operation along Island Main Road in Conaree and St. Johnson Long Path. This operation was aimed at improving road safety and resulted in the issuance of a total of forty-one (41) traffic tickets for various violations.

The specific violations included:

– Seven (7) tickets for driving with dark-tinted windows.
– Five (5) tickets for driving with dark-tinted windscreens.
– Eight (8) tickets for identification marks that did not conform to regulations.
– Three (3) tickets for driving without a seatbelt.
– Two (2) tickets for driving with an invalid or expired license.
– Three (3) tickets for failing to produce a driver’s license immediately upon request.
– Eleven (11) tickets for driving with defective tyres.
– Two (2) tickets for operating a vehicle without appropriate headgear.

Additionally, one person was arrested for driving without insurance, and one vehicle was impounded. Two vehicles are scheduled for inspection on November 1, 2024.

The Royal St. Christopher and Nevis Police Force emphasises its commitment to enforcing road safety regulations and reminds motorists to ensure their vehicles meet legal standards to avoid penalties.
