At the conclusion of the Tape Ball Cricket tournament hosted by the Department of Youth and Sports and sponsored by the Development Bank of St. Kitts and Nevis, which concluded on Sunday 11th November, a brief presentation ceremony was held.
The ceremony was chaired by Mr. Carl Tuckett and featured an address by Permanent Secretary in the Ministry of Sports, Mr. Keith Glasgow, who spoke on behalf of Sports Minister, Hon. Eric Evelyn, who was off island.
Mr. Glasgow spoke to the importance of developing partnerships and noted that the Development Bank of St. Kitts and Nevis, has been an outstanding corporate partner with Government over the years, in executing certain programs, which foster the positive development of the youths within the society.
He also made a plea for more cricket to be played, so that the young cricketers can enhance their skills.
He warmly congratulated the teams but had special commendations for the champion team-Empire.
Mr. Glasgow then joined Administrative Assistant at the Youth and Sports Department, Miss Shakira Maloney, in handing out the top awards as follows:
Monetary awards to scorers Sharlene Martin and Curleanne Parris
Monetary awards to umpires Earl David and Josephine France
Third place award to SDA Jets-a cheque for $250.00
Second place award to Government Road All-stars-a trophy and a cheque for $500.00
First place-championship award to Empire Sports club-The sponsor’s trophy (to be kept); a revolving trophy and a cheque for a whopping $1,000.00.

Deputy Director of the Department of Youth and Sports, Mr. Brian Dowe, indicated during his vote of thanks, that the tournament will be an annual affair.
