Elaine Thompson Herah has defended her Olympic title with a record run in the Women’s 100m final in Tokyo, Japan on Saturday.
Thompson Herah clocked an Olympic record of 10.61 seconds, the second-fastest time in history, eclipsing the 10.63s ran by Shelly-Ann Fraser-Pryce earlier this year.
Speaking of Fraser-Pryce, she finished second in 10.74 seconds, as Shericka Jackson closed out the Jamaican sweep in a personal best 10.76 seconds.
All three women will now turn their focus to the 200m event.
