**The UWI Global Campus St. Kitts and Nevis**
The University of the West Indies (The UWI) Global Campus, St. Kitts-Nevis Site, celebrated the achievements of its graduates from the Federation with a Recognition Ceremony and Watch Party on Saturday, November 9, 2024. This event was held at the St. Kitts Marriott Hotel under the patronage of Her Excellency Dame Marcella Liburd, Governor-General of St. Kitts and Nevis.
The ceremony included congratulatory remarks from Mrs. Lisa-Romayne Archibald-Pistana, Permanent Secretary in the Federal Ministry of Education, and Mr. Troy Liburd, Junior Minister of Education in the Nevis Island Administration. UWI alumna Ms Nicole Johnson chaired the event, and fellow alumna Ms Nakita Liburd welcomed the graduates to The UWI Alumni Association, encouraging them to stay connected and engaged with their alma mater. Mr. Wricherley Gumbs, who graduated with a Bachelor of Education in Educational Leadership and Management, delivered the vote of thanks on behalf of the graduates. Mrs. Gaile Gray-Phillip, Head of Site, presented the graduates with UWI memorabilia as a token of recognition and celebration.
Among the Class of 2024, fifty-three individuals from St. Kitts and Nevis completed their studies for the Academic Year 2023-2024. The graduates pursued a range of programs including Accounting, Banking and Finance, Early Childhood Development and Family Studies, Marketing, International Management, Sociology, Tourism and Hospitality Management, Social Work, Financial Management, Human Resource Management, Management Studies, Psychology, Youth Development Work, Sport Kinetics, Sports Leadership and Management, Literacy Studies, Educational Leadership, and Educational Leadership and Management. Of these graduates, fifty-one earned Bachelor of Science or Bachelor of Education degrees, one earned a Master of Science degree, and one earned a Doctor of Education degree. Forty-six of the graduates were from St. Kitts, while seven were from Nevis.
The staff of The UWI Global Campus St. Kitts-Nevis Site extends congratulations to all the graduates on their remarkable accomplishments and wishes them continued success in their future endeavours. They also express sincere gratitude to all the sponsors, partners, and supporters whose contributions made the Recognition Ceremony and Watch Party possible and successful.
