Charlestown-Nevis– It was late December 2017 and the Salvation Army personnel, led by Major Roxroy Campbell, brought over a bus load of goodies, as has been the norm, in the last few years, to share with the less fortunate of Nevis.
Major Campbell in brief remarks, stated that he was happy that his organization embraced the opportunity to share God’s love with the persons in need.
He stated that they intended ‘to visit all of the nooks and crannies in Nevis and people will be smiling as we serve God in this way.’
Also present were the Jamaican-Kittitian-Nevisian Association (JAM-KIT-NEV) President, Carol Phillips, who stated that she was happy that Major Campbell and his team allowed the JAM-KIT-NEV Association to share with those who may be forgotten at that time of year.
Ag. Coordinator of the Seniors’ Division, Miss Trudy Prentice also thanked the Salvation Army and the JAM- KIT –NEV Association for helping to bring cheer to some of the less fortunate persons on Nevis.
The group then journeyed throughout the island, handing out food packages which included basic Items such as sugar, rice, flour, cornmeal, oil, soap, matches, tuna fish, sardines, tomato ketchup, soft drinks and bread.
They certainly brought smiles to the faces of the members of many households.
