Ms. Paulette Hanley, Vice President and Treasurer of the Nevis Renal Society, pointed out that they visited the establishment to do the screening so that people can get an awareness of the condition of their kidneys. She stated that the screening is usually conducted in the Memorial Square in Charlestown, but a number of persons have said in the past, that they never got the opportunity to be screened due to their work schedules.
Ms. Florene Williams, who currently serves as Secretary and Public Relations Officer, noted that the screening process will continue on Thursday, March 10, 2016 at all three secondary schools on the island. Ms. Williams pointed out, that the Health Unit will attend the Charlestown Secondary School as well as the Gingerland Secondary School and Dr. Glenville Liburd will be at the Nevis International School. Ms. Williams is also urging the general public to purchase T-shirts and to join in the walkathon.
