Football Coach at the Sports Department on Nevis, Leroy ‘Jun-Jun’ Sweeney, on Thursday confirmed that the number five jersey worn by the late Tesril Nisbett as a member of the St.Kitts –Nevis Football team will be officially retired.
The symbolic ceremony is set to take place at the funeral service of the tremendously talented sporting young woman, which is scheduled to take place at the Charlestown Methodist Church on Saturday 15th June, starting with a viewing of the body at 1:00 p.m.
According to Sweeney, an impressive contingent of Footballers from both St.Kitts and Nevis, along with members of the Athletic fraternity on both islands are expected to show up in uniforms at the funeral service.
Her team mates will officially sign on the number five jersey and after that the jersey is expected to be permanently housed at the Nevis Sports Museum. A book of condolences is also expected to be placed at the Sports Museum, during the course of next week.
Tesril Nisbett was an outstanding athlete who majored in the javelin throw and Football but also demonstrated some mastery of the game of Cricket.
She passed away unexpectedly one week ago after a short period of illness.
