BASSETERRE, ST. KITTS, FEBRUARY 1ST 2013 (CUOPM) – The Foreign Minister of the Republic of China (Taiwan), His Excellency David Yung-lo Lin, is making a four nation tour of its diplomatic allies in the Caribbean.
During talks with the Presidents, Governors General, Prime Ministers and Ministers of Foreign, the Taiwan official and members of his 8-person delegation are expected to share views with them regarding bilateral cooperation programmes and express gratitude for the long-standing support and friendship from their countries for Taiwan’s involvement in international communities.
Minister Lin will also stress, by means of his official trip, Taiwan’s resolute grounds as to the sovereignty of Diaoyutai Islands and elaborate on “The East China Sea Peace Initiative.”
In addition, he will also inspect the relevant Embassies and Technical Missions posts to learn more about their daily operations and visit the posted volunteers of specialty and personnel of replacement service.
The delegation is scheduled to visit St. Kitts and Nevis from 2nd to 4th February and the Taiwan Minister of Foreign Affairs will hold talks with St. Kitts and Nevis’ Governor General His Excellency Sir Edmund Wickham; Prime Minister the Rt. Hon. Dr. Denzil L. Douglas and the new Minister of Foreign Affairs.
The Taiwan Foreign minister will also visit St. Lucia, St. Vincent and the Grenadines and Haiti.
