Suspects for Hobson’s death released

(CHARLESTOWN, NEVIS)- The two persons who were detained by the Royal St. Christopher and Nevis Police Force to assist in the investigation into the death of Carlylse Hobson’s have been released.

Hobson’s body was discovered on the morning of Friday, February 21, 2014 on a road leading to the Nevis Island Government Quarry known as ‘Valley’.

Hours after the discovery, police officers picked up a Zion Village resident for questioning. A few days later a female who is said to be the mother of the male in question was also picked up by police officers for questioning.

However, they were both released and investigation is still ongoing. Officers are still working vigorously and diligently to solve the matter.

An autopsy confirmed on Sunday, February 23, 2014 that Hobson, the Webb’s Ground resident, died of gunshot injuries to his head.

His death has been recorded as the first murder for the year 2014 on the island of Nevis.

The funeral service of the deceased is scheduled to be held on Saturday, March 8, 2014 at the St. George’s Anglican Church.
