(CHARLESTOWN, NEVIS)- The Charlestown Secondary School was disturbed this morning Tuesday, September 30, 2014 when police officers were summoned to the school to investigate a stabbing incident.
News reaching this publication indicates that sometime this morning, two students of the CSS were in an altercation that led to one being injured.
It is alleged that a fourth form student stabbed a sixth form student with a knife. The sixth former was transported to the Alexandra Hospital where he received stitches.
This incident came five days after police officers conducted a search in one of the public schools on St. Kitts and discovered four (4) knives, a screwdriver, a small quantity of marijuana and other items of interest.
Commissioner CG Walwyn in a press release at that time advised parents and guardians to speak with their children concerning taking weapons and drugs to school.
‘Keeping our children and staff safe at school is our priority’, the Commissioner said in that release. He also noted, “Parents and guardians, be advised that this is a very serious offense that can result in charges being filed against your child if found in possession of drugs or weapons”.
The COP indicated that there is zero tolerance towards drugs, guns, and violence in the schools of the Federation.
