As of September 25, 2024, the 4th ECCB International Netball Series has produced a series of impressive performances, with St Vincent and the Grenadines emerging as the frontrunner in the tournament.
In the latest results, St Vincent and the Grenadines secured a hard-fought victory over St Lucia, winning 56-45. This win follows their previous successes against Antigua and Barbuda (68-37), Anguilla (87-8), and Dominica (72-32), establishing them as the team to beat.
Antigua and Barbuda also showcased their prowess by dominating Anguilla 81-27. Despite a narrow defeat to St Lucia (55-38) earlier in the series, their scoring power keeps them in contention.
The Cayman Islands made a statement with a commanding 69-18 win over Montserrat. After an initial setback against St Vincent and the Grenadines (62-37), they rebounded with a solid performance against Dominica (62-37) and a high-scoring 90-14 victory over Anguilla.
Grenada remains a strong contender, recently defeating Dominica 55-30 and dominating Montserrat (82-8). However, their inability to secure wins in closely contested matches, such as their narrow loss to Antigua (39-37) and the Cayman Islands (47-35), may hinder their progress.
St Lucia, despite their mixed performance—including a decisive 88-12 win against Anguilla—struggled against stronger opponents, evidenced by their recent loss to St Vincent.
Dominica and Montserrat are currently at the bottom of the standings, with Dominica suffering heavy losses to Grenada (30-55) and the Cayman Islands (62-37). Montserrat’s challenges were evident in their 69-18 defeat to the Cayman Islands and their earlier struggles against Grenada (82-8).
As the tournament continues through September 30, St Vincent and the Grenadines remain the team to watch while Antigua and Barbuda and the Cayman Islands strive to close the gap.
