Eddy Caines Richards is insisting that it is not a COMPETITION but instead it will be a fun activity which will only enhance the overall development of the children.
He was speaking about the proposed inaugural Skipping festival which will be hosted by his school—the St.Thomas’ Primary School.
‘Just as the Jocelyn Liburd Primary School normally host the Kids athletics fun day, we will now be focusing on SKIPPING,’ he said.
The first ever event will be held at the St.Thomas’ school’s court yard on Friday 27th November and all of the Primary schools have been invited to participate.
The St.James’ Primary school will be absent however, as they have a previously planned activity on that same day.
Even though it is not a competition, children will team up in representing their various schools, as they would have been practising and coordinating the various jump moves with each other.
Several judges will be put in place and the boy and the girl who skip the longest will receive trophies and the most outstanding school on the day, will also receive a trophy.
Richards was also happy to inform that a sponsor is already on board for the event, in the person of Premier Vance Amory. He thanked Premier Amory for his kind sponsorship.
The general public is invited to witness the event which promises to generate quite a lot of excitement
