St. Kitts is ‘Seeing Stars’… of Hollywood!

Basseterre, St. Kitts (August 28, 2014) – On Friday, August 22, 2014, the stars of Hollywood were starry-eyed for St. Kitts at the Red Carpet Style Lounge in honor of the 66th Emmy Awards. The Caribbean island was featured as an exclusive destination travel partner at the invitation-only event, which hosted award nominees, presenters, celebrities and other talent in the TV and Film industries, with hotel stays on St. Kitts presented to four lucky celebrities.

“With a number of new luxury developments opening or soon-to-open, it is important for St. Kitts to secure exposure within an upscale audience that has the means to enjoy high-end leisure travel,” said Senator Ricky Skerritt, Minister of Tourism & International Transport. “Participating in events such as this one helps to raise the destination profiles of both St. Kitts and Nevis in front of a very desirable set of individuals.”

At the event, Patrice Henry, Marketing Officer for the St. Kitts Tourism Authority, interacted with attendees while they relaxed and provided them with information about St. Kitts. VIPs who stopped by St. Kitts’ booth were provided branded St. Kitts gift bags containing miniature bottles of rum courtesy of locally-brewed Brinley Gold Shipwreck rum. In addition, three-night stays for two at Ottley’s Plantation Inn and Kittitian Hill (provided compliments of the properties) were presented to four lucky celebrities, as follows-

Several celebrities including Danny Zuker, producer of Emmy-nominated TV Show Modern Family, were eager to learn more about St. Kitts and the island’s tourism product.

The Red Carpet Style Lounge in honor of the 66th Primetime Emmy Awards was hosted by Secret Room Events and benefitted The Humane Society of the of the United States and The Shelter Pet Project.
