We are deeply saddened to say goodbye to a true sports icon, President Alphonso Eli Bridgewater, fondly known as “Bridges”. Born on February 16, 1952, President Bridgewater’s legacy will forever be remembered in our hearts and in the history of our sports.
In honour of his extraordinary life and unwavering dedication to sports and the Olympic Movement, the St. Kitts and Nevis Olympic Committee Headquarters has been renamed the “Alphonso E. Bridgewater Olympic House”.
This historic resolution was passed on March 27, 2024, as a testament to his profound contributions to the Olympic Movement and the overall development of sports within our Federation.
Bridges’ impact on sports spread throughout the Caribbean, Latin America, and beyond, as he held and served in various capacities. May he rest in peace. His spirit and vision will continue to inspire us all.
