New York, New York – Mr. Simon Springett, the United Nations Resident Coordinator to Barbados and the Eastern Caribbean, attending the United Nations Development Coordinator Office’s annual meeting at the UN, met with H.E Dr Mutryce Williams to bolster strategic coordination following the impactful Prime Ministerial visit to the recently concluded High-Level Week of the 79th Session of the United Nations General Assembly.
The meeting between the Permanent Mission and the Resident Coordinator’s Office is expected to strengthen the impact and reach of the Federation across key United Nations deliberative and decision-making bodies. This strategic engagement demonstrates the Prime Minister’s commitment to redoubling efforts to achieve the Sustainable Development Goals by 2030 and become the Caribbean’s first Sustainable Island State by 2024.
The Resident Coordinator, who recently presented his credentials to Prime Minister Terrance Drew and Foreign Minister Douglas, is on his first tour of duty in the Eastern Caribbean.
