BASSETERRE, St. Kitts (SKNIS) – The Republic of Poland, through its Embassy in Caracas, and the Republic of Colombia through its Jamaican-based Embassy, have joined the list of countries to extend best wishes to the Federation of St. Kitts and Nevis on the occasion of its 40th Anniversary of Independence.
In its congratulatory letter to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Embassy of the Republic of Poland expressed satisfaction with the mutually beneficial cooperation between both countries.
It stated, “Our relationships are harmonious and our countries support each other on important foreign policy issues. The Government of the Republic of Poland reaffirms its willingness to continue cooperation at international organizations being confident that these activities can effectively support efforts for the sustainable and dynamic development of our two countries.”
Meanwhile, the Embassy of the Republic of Colombia used the occasion to convey the wishes of the Government and People of Colombia for the prosperity and welfare of its sister nation—St. Kitts and Nevis.
“This diplomatic mission emphasizes a common agenda. Colombia and St. Kitts share especially in environmental protection, security, and defence, mitigation of climate change, amongst other issues that integrate the cooperation agenda offered by Colombia to its CARICOM partners. As Caribbean nations, as well, both countries have a compromise to protect the maritime environment and promote their common African cultural heritage including the important debate around the historic reparations,” the Embassy stated in its correspondence.
The Twin Island Federation of St. Kitts and Nevis celebrated 40 years of nationhood on Tuesday, September 19, 2023.
