Charlestown –Nevis- On Tuesday 29th May, Mrs. Grace Manners and other members of her Single Parents group, which is coordinated by the Social Services Department, went on a mission dubbed: ‘Donors appreciation day.’
According to Mrs. Manners, they selected three of the significant donors, who have consistently donated towards their raffles and other events, in terms of their fund raising endeavours.
Accompanying the single parents’ group, was Minister of Social Development, Hon. Eric Evelyn, who delivered the certificates of appreciation at three popular business places on the island.
The first stop was at SUNSHINE’S BAR AND GRILL, where Minister Evelyn presented a certificate to the popular business owner Llewellyn SUNSHINE Caines.
Minister Evelyn thanked him for his contribution to the group and indeed the promotion of the island and wished him well in his future endeavours.
Caines for his part, noted that he was always available to assist the group and to give back to the community, in general.
He also posed for a photo shoot with some of his overseas customers, at the time.
The next stop was at LIME’S Beach bar, where owner Randy Jeffers, another popular businessman on the island, gleefully accepted a similar certificate from Minister Evelyn.
‘We are happy to give and no one can stop us,’ were his straightforward remarks.
The final stop was at the newly crowned, number one hotel on the island, for the year, the Golden Rock Inn, where long serving Office Manager, Ms. Sarah-Anne Daniel, accepted the certificate on behalf of the hotel’s management team.
She thanked the Single parents group for the kind gesture and pledged the continued support of the establishment to their cause.
Mrs. Manners indicated that the gesture is destined to become an annual event and next year, anther number of donors, will be similarly honoured.
