Charlestown—Nevis—The Shekinah Dance Theater which is celebrating its 8th year of existence, is preparing for its annual major production in the month of July.
Co founder of the outstanding dance group, Mrs. Tamecia Lestrade indicated that this year’s production will be even better than the one held last year and will be held under the theme: ‘The God of all seasons.’
The production will be staged on two separate nights, on the 3rd and 4th of July at NEPAC starting at 7:30 p.m. nightly and will feature the dancers of varying age ranges.
Mrs. Lestrade noted that two of the performances that the audience should look out for especially are:
‘Forever God’ which is a tribute to her tutors at Praise Academy in Jamaica, where she was involved in some training last year and ‘Like A Bridge Over Troubled Water’. She would be personally involved in the latter.
Another feature of this year’s production will be scintillating performances by the St.Kitts Branch of the Shekinah Dance Theater, headed by her co founding partner, Mrs. Diana Pemberton who will also feature in a solo act.
Mrs. Lestrade was careful to point out that only a limited number of tickets are still available and these can be obtained from any member of the group.
She also indicated that the tickets are specific to the particular night for which it should be used.
The cost per night is $20.00 for adults and $15.00 for children.
However, if persons opt to purchase tickets on the night of the performance, they will have to pay $25.00 and will risk having to stand for the entire performance.
Additionally, there will be several side acts, featuring dramatic presentations; soloists and instrumentalists.
Mrs. Lestrade took time out to thank the parents of the children and the many sponsors who have assisted the group, taking time out to single out, The Nevis Island Administration, Premier Vance Amory, Hon. Hazel Brandy-Williams, the NEPAC staff and Mr. Almond Dasent.
