Sadiki Phipps, representing Nevis, featured prominently in a weightlifting competition, held on the afternoon of Friday 7th October.
The competition was held in the heart of Basseterre, ST. Kitts, at the Port Zante roundabout, opposite Courts.
It was the Powerlifting competition hosted by the St. Kitts-Nevis Weight Lifting Association.
The two major aspects of the competition were:
DEADLIFT and BENCH PRESS.

2nd Vernard-365 lbs.
3rd Alston Hanley (also representing Nevis)
WOMEN DEADLIFT
1st Rachel-355 lbs.
2nd Lauen-345 lbs.
MEN DEADLIFT
1st Sadiki Phipps -585 lbs.
2nd Vernard-525 lbs.
3rd Alston Hanley 515 lbs.
The three top placers were presented with trophies.
An exciting feature for the afternoon was an exhibition of bench pressing by the Prime Minister of St. Kitts and Nevis, Dr. Terrance Drew.
He was loudly applauded, as he comfortably lifted the weight presented to him.
