Owner/Manager of the Titans track and field club on Nevis, Timothy Caines, on Tuesday confirmed that two of his club’s athletes recently qualified for the prestigious IAAAF world youth championships scheduled for Ukraine from July 10th to 14th.
The athletes are Sadiki Tyson and Chloe Williams. The two youthful sprinters have excelled throughout their early years from preschool right through to their secondary school years and continue to show the potential to get to the top of their beloved sport.
Caines warmly congratulated the two athletes and acknowledged that success for them was acquired by the dint of hard work and many hours of sacrifice and training. He is confident that they will represent St.Kitts and Nevis very well in the upcoming games.
Meanwhile, Teacher at the Maude Cross Preparatory School, Ms Cherry Ann Walwyn has indicated that a special presentation ceremony will take place at the school on Thursday 27th June in honour of the two athletes who had their early years of schooling at the school.
‘We are very proud of them,’ she stated.
The presentation ceremony will be held during the morning assembly period and certain individuals who have impacted the lives of the athletes will also be invited. These include their first official coach at the school, Malcolm Ramsey and some of their current coaches and past Teachers.
Also representing St.Kitts and Nevis at the 8th annual world event will be Kristal Liburd; Warren Hazel and Alkronus Bridgewater. The Team Leader/Head Coach will be Donnell Esdaille.
The team is expected to leave the Federation on Tuesday July 2nd.
