NAAA chief, Lester Blackett on Thursday dispelled rumours that the results which were announced at the end of the 2013 edition of the Interprimary sports meet, had been changed.
On a day when there was much talk about recounts, Blackett was clear: ‘Every year after each meet we have a review of the meet. This includes going back through the files, including video clips and photo finishes etc to ensure that no errors were made as regards the points given to the various schools. It is an established process, conducted each year and it is a very transparent process. All of the schools also have access to the photo finish results etc as all of the information is posted on the website.
As of now, up to this present time, the results which were announced immediately after the event on Wednesday are the official results. If after our review process, there are any changes, the Education Department will be first alerted of the situation and then a public announcement as regards such changes will be made with their approval. However, as of now, the results previously released are indeed the official results,’ stated Blackett.
