PRESS RELEASE
Red Advertising became the first agency to cross the 500 ADDY Award mark when they earned 28 ADDYs in the 2017 American Advertising Awards Competition.
This also continued their unprecedented run as top creative agency in Barbados for a staggering 14th year.
The annual ADDY show is the biggest creative competition in the region and is under the auspices of the American Advertising Federation.
This year entries came from 32 companies across 8 Caribbean territories – Barbados, Trinidad & Tobago, Jamaica, The U.S. Virgin Islands, The Bahamas, The Cayman Islands, Curacao & Puerto Rico.
Banks Holdings were big winners through Red winning 3 Gold and 10 Silver Awards across the Banks, Deputy and Frutee brands.
FLOW Barbados also received 4 ADDY awards for their “Big Blue Summer” campaign. Other awards were won on Abed’s, The Salvation Army, Graeme Hall Nature Sanctuary and for Red Advertising itself.
Jevan Jutagir, Managing Director of Red, commented on the awards,
“500 awards over a period of 14 years is no mean feat. Getting there ahead of much bigger and older agencies from Trinidad and Jamaica gives us the icing on the proverbial cake!
In achieving this unprecedented feat, we have also been consistently in the top 3 creative agencies in the Caribbean, having won this prestigious creative competition outright in 4 of the past 10 years”.
He went on to praise his creative team.
We see agencies come and go at these awards, but it is testament to Tracey Garcia, our very talented Creative Director, that Red is always a constant at these awards! Her team give it their all every year and every year they deliver the goods on behalf of our clients!
2016 had many new challenges, not least our opening up an office in Trinidad, but we were able to surmount these while maintaining the quality of our creative product.
Are we happy with 500? Hell no! This year we have already begun the push to beat this years total and to hit the 1000 mark! It is also good to see some of the other agencies in Barbados stepping up, hopefully we can look forward to more home-grown competition in the future!”
The ADDY awards is the creative award show of the American Advertising Federation (AAF) of which the Caribbean Advertising Federation (CAF) is a member. The awards are 3 tiered with local shows and awards which feed into regional shows (the CAF is part of the 4th District region which includes Florida, The Caribbean and Puerto Rico) which in turn feed into a National show.
