Charlestown-Nevis-It was a long night but the natural response from one young man was: “Who cares? I am enjoying myself.’
It was the evening of Friday 25th May and a bumper crowd had gathered at the Cultural Village in Charlestown, to witness a mega event, hosted by the Community Development Department.
The evening had commenced with a gospel dance contest and a gospel singing competition.
It was well after 9 pm but the many persons gathered, showed no signs of getting bored.
As a matter of fact, they were simply warming up for the highly anticipated second half of the show, featuring two top Caribbean Gospel artistes, viz POSITIVE out of Trinidad and Tobago and PRODIGAL SON out of Jamaica.
Both men held the audience captive as they rendered old and new hit songs and engaged the crowd in a praise and worship session.
The majority of the audience abandoned their chairs and moved closer to the stage, to get a closer look at the gospel stars and danced and sang along until way into the night.
Director of the Community Development Department, Mrs. Janet Meloney, noted afterwards that she was extremely pleased with the turn out to the show and the tremendous response that the two singers received.
