Basseterre, St. Kitts, January 26 2016 (RSCNPF): The Royal St. Christopher and Nevis Police Force received a donation of a technologically advanced kit for use in the crime fighting efforts from the St. Kitts Marine Works, a local company.
In a presentation held on Monday (January 25) at the Police Training School, Mr. Regiwell Francis, CEO and founder of St. Kitts Marine Works presented the kit to Commissioner (Ag) Stafford Liburd.
After describing the capabilities of the equipment Mr. Francis said, “St. Kitts Marine works is pleased to hand over the units, they will enhance the Police’s crime fighting capability through surveillance, reconnaissance and deterrence.” He added, I am donating one today to the Police in Basseterre, last week we donated one to the Nevis Division.” Mr. Francis also informed that with this gift, training will be provided for 6 individuals.
This is the second presentation to Emergency responders in the Federation by St. Kitts Marine Works in recent weeks. A presentation of three (3) thermal imaging devices were made to the Fire Services last week.
Commenting on the donation, Commissioner(Ag) Stafford Liburd said, “this donation today from St. Kitts Marine Works, is appreciated. Over the years the Police Service has benefited from the generosity of our corporate citizens, and to see a new partner supporting the efforts of the Police Service is encouraging.” He added, ” Reggie saw a need within the service and filled the gap.”
One equipment package was also presented to the St. Kitts Nevis Defence Force.
