Premier the Honourable Vance Amory, today met with the police high command in Nevis , ACP Robert Liburd and Superintendent Hilroy Brandy to get a briefing on the incident which so the armed robbery of the Scotia Bank in Charlestown.
In the discussions which followed the briefing, it was clear that the police have begun a serious all out effort to capture and bring to justice the perpetrators of this criminal act.
The police will make the relevant release of information when the time is right but it is necessary to note that the Premier in the Administration and the police have met and have discussed this most recent traumatic situation among others and have devised some strategies to deal with the prevention of any further similar event.
It is important to note that while there is a significant reduction in crime generally and down by 40% the police and the NIA are very concerned at the occurrence of crimes involving guns and obvious banditry and call on the general public who may have information to assist the police in the capture of these bandits and bring them to justice to face the full force of the law.
Let us remember, Crime and criminality do not know colours or affiliation and it therefore affects all of us when a crime is committed and it tarnishes the good name of our country as well.
