Police Team Takes Gold on World Obesity Day

The now annual relay race through Charlestown, hosted by the Health Promotions Unit, in commemoration of World Obesity Day, was held on Thursday 3rd March.

There were eight registered teams.

The athletes commenced in the vicinity of Best Buy supermarket in Charlestown, passed off at the Police station and completed five legs in total, before concluding alongside the Sir Simeon Daniel Bust.

The Royal St. Christopher and Nevis Police Force-Nevis Division, emerged the champions, closely followed in second place by St. Kitts and Nevis Defence Force.

In third place was the NEVLEC team.

World Obesity Day is observed globally on March 4th, with the view of promoting practical solutions to end the global obesity crisis.
