POLICE INVESTIGATES SHOOTING IN TABERNACLE

Basseterre, St. Kitts, October 26, 2015 (RSCNPF): The Royal St. Christopher and Nevis Police Force is investigating a shooting of two persons in Tabernacle that has resulted in the death of one individual and the other in critical condition and undergoing treatment.

According to Police reports, the Violent Crime Unit (VCU) is currently investigating the shooting of two persons at Johnson Street in Tabernacle that occurred between 4:00 and 5:00 p. m. on Sunday (October 25).

The incident was reported to the Police sometime after 11:00 pm Sunday after a passerby heard cries for help from one of the victims.

Trevor Edmeade aka “Abdul”, who resided at Parray Housing Project was shot multiple times and died at the scene. Audain Henry aka “Mumpa” of Johnson Street, Tabernacle was also shot multiple times.  He is presently undergoing treatment at the JNF General Hospital.

Investigations revealed that both victims were at the premises of Mr. Henry when they were accosted by two masked gunmen, who fired a number of shots. The assailants fled the scene.

The scene was processed by the Forensic Department and Investigations are ongoing.

Continuing his appeal for assistance from the public,  the Assistant Commissioner of Police with responsibility for Criminal Investigations ACP Ian Queeley said,  “If you have seen something, if you have heard something as it relates to this or any violent crime, or any criminal activity, tell someone. Call the Basseterre or Charlestown Police Station or any police station with your information. You can also do so anonymously by call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-847 (TIPS),”

“We can’t do this alone,” he stressed.
