St. Thomas’ Parish-Nevis- Community Development Officer in the St. Thomas’ area, Miss Denesia Smithen, has deemed the poetry night hosted by the Department of Community Development, as a major success.
Despite the fact that there were other significant activities slated for that same night, there was a fair sized crowd in attendance.
The evening’s program featured a number of local poets, including: James Galloway; Clayton Huggins; Hanzel Manners and Stanhope Richards.
Other exciting acts, also added to the evening’s entertainment package. These included songs by Janet Meloney; Faith Christ Ministries; Deseree Parry; STT choir and Sidondre Flemming.
Dances by the St. Thomas’ Primary school’s dance group; fashion models, modelling items produced by Camille Gosselin; a presentation by Mikkel Meloney; Ras Binghi on drums and the two MC’s for the evening, Chesley Manners and Curtis Morton Sr, who also made poetic presentations of their own.
The event also served as a fund raiser for the upcoming St. Thomas’ festival.
