Demming new Chairperson-elect and Powell new Deputy Political Leader-elect of People’s Action Movement
PAM Headquarters, St.Kitts (April 14th 2013):-The Dynamic hostess of the People’s Action Movement’s popular radio program “The People’s Forum”, was today elected Chairperson Elect of the People’s Action Movement.
“With a heavy dose of humility I want to say heartfelt thanks for the overwhelming support during this campaign. Today the caucus voted to see the action in the People’s Action Movement, and action I intend to deliver. I am ready, ready, ready, ready,” says Ms P. Cyndie Demming
Ms Demming, a seasoned advocate for women’s issues declared her intentions, and commitment as party chairman to put in place strategies designed to see an increase in the role and percentage of women in decision making capacities at the highest level, strengthen the party’s youth arm, revamp the overall administrative structure, see an increase in membership, and ensure a financially strong organization.
Cyndie Demming, has made Political history as she is the first woman Chairperson of a major political party in the Federation.
Demming is a graduate of the Caribbean Institute of Women In Leadership (CIWiL) on Transformational Leadership for Women. she holds a Masters Public Administration (Distinction), Masters Business Administration (Distinction), Graduate Certificate Business Administration and Masters Human Resource Management (Distinction) from the Keller Graduate School of Management.
The vibrant recently announced candidate for Constituency#2 Mr Jonel Powell was elected unopposed as Deputy Political Leader of the party. A position previously held by now Leader the Hon. Shawn K. Richards. Hon. Eugene Hamilton retained his post as Deputy Political Leader.
Dr. Charles Warner was retained as Deputy Chairperson and Ryllis Percival and Valentine Lindsay were able to maintain their Assistant General Secretary and Treasurer positions.
Mr Claudius “Hardis” Gumbs is a new face to the executive having been elected as party Public Relations Officer.
The positions of Leader and General Secretary were not up for elections.

The executive would have to be ratified by the party’s general body at it’s annual convention which is scheduled for April 28th.
