Jamaica’s Shericka Jackson, Shelly-Ann Fraser-Pryce and Elaine Thompson-Herah have all booked their spot in the final of the Women’s 200m at the World Athletics Championships in Eugene, Oregon on Tuesday.
National Champion Shericka Jackson leads all qualifiers after winning semi-final one in 21.67, ahead of Niger’s Aminatou Seyni, who clocked 22.04 for second.
Elaine Thompson-Herah, despite running a season’s best time of 21.97, progressed as a non-automatic qualifier after she finished third in heat two behind USA’s Tamara Clark (21.95), and Great Britain’s defending champion Dina Asher-Smith who also clocked a season’s best (21.96).
Fraser-Pryce stopped the clock at 21.82 to win semi-final three ahead of USA’s Abby Steiner (22.15).
