Fountain -Nevis- The NUFF TINGS BOYS CLUB celebrated its seventh anniversary on Saturday 24th September, with a grand concert at the clubhouse.
The group which is the brainchild of hard-working community activist, Ms. Christine Smith, started with the idea of giving the boys within the community, due care, attention and guidance so that they can become well-meaning citizens.
Later, a girls’ group was added to the club, with the same mindset of nurturing the girls in the area, to be guided according to biblical principles and to enhance their skill set.
The celebration on the day took the form of a concert, which was ably chaired by former Nevis and Leewards all-rounder, Ronald Powell.
It featured quotations of well-known scripture verses by the boys and girls; group songs, solos, instrumentals, poetry and dance.
The ever-active Christine Smith had her moments as the ultimate stage personality and certainly entertained the receptive audience.
Also adding her commendation to the group and its leader, was Mrs. Janet Meloney, Director of Community Development who applauded Ms. Smith for her sacrifice and dedication in guiding the youths.
