Newly elected President of the Nevis Cricket Association, Carlisle Powell, indicated several immediate plans for his Association, during his acceptance speech on Wednesday night.
Powell indicated that three essential committees will be formed:
1. Cricket Committee -This will comprise of past national cricketers and at least two of them should have played at the international level.
2. Fundraising Committee – This committee will deal with ideas and plans for fundraising activities
3. Disciplinary Committee.
Another immediate order of business, pertains to Powell’s request of Secretary Jan Grell Hull, to write a letter to the Minister of Sports, Hon. Eric Evelyn, seeking an audience as soon as possible with the association executive, to plot the way forward for the development of cricket on the island and also for the development of the ET Willet Park so that it could once again become a first-class venue.
