Charlestown, Nevis – It’s another year and the Nevis Cooperative Credit Union, joins with Credit Unions around the world, to celebrate International Credit Union week under the theme “Local Service, Global Reach”.
Administrative Executive at the prestigious institution, Miss Juliet Chiverton, elaborated on the week as follows:
Sunday, 13th October-Worship service at the Shiloh Baptist Church in Ramsbury, commencing at 11 am. The Credit Union staff and committee members will join their counterparts from the FND Credit Union and the Police Credit Union, in worship.
Monday, 14th October – Presentation of scholarships and donations at the Credit Union conference room at 9.30 am. These will include scholarship presentations to Secondary school students; donations to the Seniors’ Division; Pink Lily Cancer Care Association and a donation to the Community Health Services on Nevis.
Tuesday, 15th October – Gift distribution to elderly NCCU members. These are members who still hold active accounts and still manage to come to the Credit Union and stand or sit in line, to transact business. Presentations will be made to a number of them at their homes. Let’s Talk program on VON radio at 8 pm
Wednesday, 16th October – The relaunch of the schools’ cooperative societies
Thursday, 17th October – Morning inspiration on VON radio Radio and television address by NCCU president. NCCU open house where members will be encouraged to come in and update all relevant information. There will also be a health fair in honour of the Founder/Pioneer conducted mainly by Dr. Linton Liburd Jr, who will conduct free health checks for interested persons
Friday, 18th October – NCCU Customers’ appreciation day. Customers will be treated to snacks.
The week will climax on Saturday, 19th October with a nature hike.
