St. Kitts and Nevis Netball team is due to leave the RLB Airport on Thursday 28th September en route to Antigua, to participate in the ECCB Netball tournament, which will take place there from Friday 29th September to Sunday 8th October.
The brief ceremony was chaired by Mr. Claxton who wished the team well in the upcoming tournament.
The Head Coach of the team, Ms. Valerie Nisbett, indicated that her team was not just going to Antigua to participate but to dominate the tournament.
Vice-captain of the team, Ms. Shenette Skeete stated quite boldly, that her team intends to bring back the big trophy and also the major trophies, such as best shooter, best center player, best defender, etc.
Hon. Troy Liburd in wishing the team well in the tournament, noted that he was encouraged by the positive outlook of the team.
He pointed to the significant fact that the federation of St.Kitts and Nevis is celebrating 40 years of Independence and even hinted to getting a contingent to go to Antigua to cheer on the team.
He asked them to bring back all of the significant trophies.
The team then journeyed to the Bath Hot Springs to get a well-needed soak, prior to what is expected to be a grueling tournament, which will involve all ten teams, from across the Caribbean.
