Ms. Thouvia France Appointed as new Counsellor at St. Kitts-Nevis High Commission in London

Thouvia France, a Nevisian from Charlestown, has been appointed as the new Counsellor at the St. Kitts and Nevis High Commission in London, UK. She is replacing the previous counsellor, Nevisian Elsa Wilkin-Armbrister. Thouvia has six years of experience with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Aviation of St. Kitts. From 2010 to 2015, she served at the Permanent Mission of St. Kitts and Nevis to the United Nations in New York as Third Secretary. During her tenure, she worked with the Second Committee on economic and financial issues and later transitioned to the Fifth Committee, which is responsible for the Administration and Budgetary matters of the United Nations.

More recently, Ms. France has taken on the responsibility for Europe, the European Union, and Turkey at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in St. Kitts and Nevis. Her portfolio also includes Human Rights Issues and Sustainable Development. Before this, she was responsible for the Latin America and Caribbean region, working with the Community of Latin American and Caribbean States (CELAC), which represents 33 sovereign countries in the Americas.

Thouvia holds a Bachelor of Honors degree in Managing International Tourism from Leeds Beckett University in the United Kingdom. Although currently living in Nevis, she will be moving to her first assignment in London, where she will bring her extensive experience and expertise to the role of counsellor.
