Charlestown-Nevis—The Mental Health Unit in Nevis is in the process of observing the annual Mental Health Week.
This year’s observance is being held under the theme ‘Dignity in Mental Health.’
The week of observance runs from Saturday 10th October to Friday 16th October with the following activities:
Saturday-10th Oct-Mental Health day-Awareness walk—Chicken Stone to Bath Spring-6 am
Sunday 11th Oct-Church service at Roman Catholic Church-Old Hospital Road-10 am
Tuesday 13th October—Interview with Dr. Williams on Health Matters-NTV 8
Wednesday 14th October –Seminar at the Alexandra Hospital conference room at 9 am-‘Dignity in Mental Health.’ How do we contribute? How do we stop the stigma?
Friday 16th October –Awareness in the square-9 am to 12.00 noon
Mental Health Workers Potluck Social at Red Cross Building—12pm until
Mrs. Meredith Amory-Fields and the entire staff at the Mental Health Unit will also unite with the seniors on Nevis in the hosting of the first ever seniors fun and action sports day at the ET Willet Park, scheduled for Thursday 15th October.
They are cordially inviting the general public to be a part of the entire week of activities, with the understanding that they can learn a lot more about mental illnesses and how persons affected can be dealt with and how to prevent some of the mental health disorders.
