Monday 4th March makes exactly one year after the tragic passing of Nevisian and West Indies cricket star, Runako Morton.
The well known cricketer, who at the time was residing in Trinidad, died following a crash of the vehicle that he was driving on the evening of Sunday, March 4, 2012.
Hundreds of mourners, comprising of family members, current and past cricketers, cricket officials and members of the general public showed up at the ET Willet Park on Saturday, March 17, 2012 to show final respects to the late cricketer.
The Department of Sports is coordinating a Memorial Service today, Monday March 4, 2013 which will be held at the St.George’s Anglican cemetery, right next to the grave site of the fallen hero.
The service which will include remarks by Junior Minister of Sports, Hon Hazel Brandy-Williams is scheduled to commence at 10:30 a.m.
An open invitation has been extended to the general public to attend.
