Matthews Ranked Top 10 among ODI Batters, Bowlers

DUBAI, United Arab Emirates (CMC):

West Indies Women’s captain Hayley Matthews is now ranked in the top 10 of both the One-Day International (ODI) batting and bowling rankings following strong performances in the recently concluded tour of India.

Despite being swept by the home side 3-0 in the ODI series, Matthews’ century in the second ODI propelled her into joint seventh position in the batting rankings with Australia’s Beth Mooney on 652 points.

Matthews scored 106 from 109 balls – her seventh ODI century – in a losing effort, as India won by 115 runs.

The 26-year-old Matthews also took three wickets in the series, which helped her to leapfrog Charlie Dean and Nahida Akter to seventh position in the bowling rankings with 616 points.

Matthews remains as the third-best ODI all-rounder.

West Indies players also made huge leaps in the batting rankings, with wicketkeeper Shemaine Campbelle jumping 13 places to 52nd, while Chinelle Henry, who scored a half- century in the third ODI in her only match of the series, moved up 21 spots to 65th on 349 points.

Stafanie Taylor, who did not feature in the series due to injury, moved one spot down to 24th in the batting rankings, while Deandra Dottin dropped eight places to 38 after a disappointing series in India
