Home team Brantley CG Massives, had their work cut out for them as they fought tooth and nail with the NEVLEC High Voltage team, for a place in the finals.
The match was played at the Church Ground hard court on Monday night, AS THE Malcolm Guishard Basketball league continued.
The High Voltage team powered off to a stunning start with a 20 to 11 lead in the first quarter.
However, they had an obvious power outage in the second, as they lost that one by a margin of 22 to 8.
They came back to win the third but lost the final quarter by a crucial six points.
CG Massives therefore securing a berth in the finals, winning the game 78 to 71.

The first game of the double header, was equally entertaining as Ole Skool came up against the NABA under 19 team. Prior to this previously rained out preliminary encounter, neither of the two teams had won a game in the tournament.
They started off with a tied first quarter, with a scoreline of 14-all. The momentum continued to build, right down to the final seconds in the last quarter.
However, it was the younger lads who came away the victors.
