Gingerland -Nevis-Mary Browne of River Path, Nevis, got to the ripe old age of 106 on Tuesday 1st November.
On this special occasion, she was visited by a contingent from the Ministry of Social Development, led by Minster, Hon. Eric Evelyn.
The director of the Seniors’ division, Ms. Trudy Prentice was also in attendance.
At this point, Mrs. Browne is bedridden, but the presentation of a fruit basket was made to the celebrant’s son and daughter-in-law, on her behalf.
Minister Evelyn was elated and quick to point out that Mrs. Browne is a part of his constituency and is definitely one of the oldest persons in the federation of St. Kitts and Nevis.
He congratulated the family members for their tremendous care of the celebrant, who several years ago, at age 98, remarkably threaded a needle without the use of her glasses and read from a fine print bible as well.
The family members thanked the visiting team for their continued support and assistance.
