Charlestown-Nevis-Today is the day!
Gingerland-Nevis-Today Tuesday 1st November marks the official 100th birthday of Mary MEM Browne of River Path in Nevis.
Preliminary celebrations were held on Sunday 30th October but Mrs. Browne expressed thanks to God for allowing her to live to see the significant milestone.
She was paid an official visit by Minister of Social Development in the NIA, Hon. Hazel Brandy-Williams, who thanked her for her significant contributions to her family and by extension, the entire community.
She also thanked her family members for the tremendous show of care for the matriarch of the family and had special words of commendation for her son Richard and daughter in law, Denise, who actually lives with her and looks out for her on a daily basis. She also expressed words of appreciation to the caregivers and all others who assist in her care.
Also present, was Miss D. Michelle Liburd who extended best wishes to the birthday lady and wished her an extended healthy and happy life.
Family members also used the opportunity to express words of commendation and thanks to their mother or grandmother, as the case may be.
Mary Browne for her part, was still in her element, even at 100.
She read from the bible, Psalm 92, to be more specific, without the aid of eye glasses and then to the amazement of all present, threaded a needle in record time!
The celebrations continued throughout the day, as she had a full flow of visitors to her home.
