JAY Z WAS caught rubbing shoulders with fans as he decided to leave his helicopter grounded and take the tube to his own concert in east London.
Accompanied by close friends Coldplay singer Chris Martin, producer Timbaland, manager Ty Ty and Atlanta Records executive Michael Kyser, the 99 Problems rapper touched-in his Oyster card at Waterloo Station and hopped on the Jubilee line to the O2 on Saturday (October 12).
Far from being camera shy he smiled and laughed as stunned fans took pictures.
Causing a stir on Twitter, one tube traveller wrote: “Coming off the tube and I see Jay Z casually walking up the next escalator next to me… EVERYONE GOES NUTS!”
Another added: “So Jay Z gets on a tube to his own concert… about 500 ppl just ran after him.”
Jay Z’s concert, part of the Magna Carta Holy Grail Tour, was said to be a hit.
One concert goer tweeted: “The Jay Z show last night was absolutely amazing and then 2 songs from the end he brings out Chris Martin from Coldplay #unbelievable.”
This is not the first time that Jay Z has caught the train. Last year, he took the R train in New York to his concert at the Barclays Center.
Rihanna is another member of music royalty who has been spotted swiping her Oyster to travel on London’s Underground.
