The 8th annual Malcolm Guishard Basketball league is set to commence shortly.
Long serving President of the Nevis Amateur Basketball Association (NABA), Miss Wanda Parry revealed on Monday 3rd August, that the league will commence on Sunday 14th August at its usual venue, at the Hard court in Church Ground.
Registration is open and will close on Wednesday 10th August.
Some seven teams participated last year and Miss Parry is anticipating that seven or more teams will be in the mix for this year.
The registration fee is only $100.00 EC and the possible winnings are stipulated as follows:
1st place-The privilege of having the team’s name on the Malcolm Guishard plaque; a cash prize; a trophy and medals
2nd place-a trophy; cash prize and medals
3rd place—medals
Miss Parry also had high commendations for Minister of Sports, Hon. Mark Brantley, who has singlehandedly sponsored the league from its inception.
Last year’s winners were the CG Rebels team out of Cotton Ground.
