Brown Hill, Nevis – Sunday 28th July, was a very significant day in the life of Mrs. Masie Bartlette of Brown Hill village. The normal services at her usual place of worship, at the Brown Hill Wesleyan Holiness Church, shifted gears suddenly, as the worshippers took a few precious moments, to honour the distinguished matriarch of her family, on achieving the significant age of 90 years.
On hand to make the presentation of a plaque and fruit basket, on behalf of his Ministry and the City Drug Store, was the Minister of Social Development, Hon. Eric Evelyn.
He praised the celebrant for her tireless years of community service and to the raising of her very distinguished family. Family members also rendered a special item in song and other persons had the opportunity to salute the great lady.
On the evening of Monday 29th July, the birthday celebrations were extended, as she was the special patron for the Bridget Blucher gospel concert, held at the Brown Hill Basketball court. The renowned singer gave her special recognition as well.
