Basseterre, St. Kitts: – Friday, March 14th. As part of the 2014 World Consumer Rights Day, the St. Kitts Consumer Affairs Department in the Ministry of Trade undertook the bold initiative to hear directly from consumer on how they felt about the level of service they receive from the telecommunications service providers in the Federation. This year’s activities were held under theme “World Consumer Rights Day 2014: Fix Your Phone Rights”.
The exercise, which was carried out over several weeks, surveyed the general public with a view to assess who customers felt was the Best Mobile Service Provider in the Federation. With the all surveys completed and results tallied, mobile service provider LIME was declared the “Consumer’s Choice, Communication Provider of the Year 2014”.
Minister of Trade and Consumer Affairs, the Hon. Richard Skerritt acknowledged, “For the first time this year the Department undertook the bold move to evaluate from a customer perspective who was the best telecommunications service provider in the Federation”. Minister Skerritt highlighted the phenomenal growth of the telecommunications sector globally and expounded on the need for our local service providers to ensure customer service excellence in this highly competitive market.
In receiving the award on behalf of LIME, Marketing and Corporate Communications Manager, Mr. Kevin Edwards expressed “that it was indeed an honor for the company to be so recognized by the customers that we serve”.
LIME General Manager Mr. David Lake commented on the award saying, “Our goal, in fact our mission, is to provide the best quality products with the best customer service experience. Even if we don’t get it right the first time, we will do whatever it takes to make it right. We thank customers for their high commendation”.
