A lamp post, which caught on fire today, May 4, 2017, in Gingerland may have been the cause of a power outage for most parts of the island.
Nevispages confirmed today from a Fire and Rescues Services Department official that the Department responded to a “lamp post” fire in the Zion Gingerland area.
The Fire and Rescue services received a call at 12:20 p.m. and fire rescue officers were dispatched from the Charlestown Fire Hall, to extinguish said fire.
The electrical supply had to be shut off for a period of time for the fire to be extinguished.
Since then power supply has been restored.
